Brakes and Alignment

Brakes wear out because stopping turns motion into heat, which slowly eats away pads, rotors, and shoes. Everyday driving—city stop-and-go, highway braking, hauling, or towing—speeds this. Hard stops, riding the brakes, steep hills, and heavy traffic add heat and stress, making pads thin and rotors warp faster. Oil, road salt, water, and aging parts also lower braking power over time.

You may need a wheel alignment if the car pulls to one side, the steering wheel is off-center, or tires wear unevenly or too quickly. Causes include hitting curbs or potholes, worn suspension parts, or replacing tires or suspension pieces. Proper alignment sets tire angles right, improving tire life, fuel economy, steering, and safety, and preventing extra wear on tires, brakes, and suspension.

Diagnostics & General Repairs

Unusual noises usually mean your car needs attention. A good mechanic asks when the noise happens (startup, acceleration, braking, idle), then runs the car and listens with a stethoscope or mic to find the source. They check under the hood, under the car, and at the wheels for loose belts, worn bearings, leaks, cracked hoses, or bad suspension. Diagnostic tools (OBD-II scanner, compression tester, smoke machine) find engine, electrical, or vacuum problems. A road test verifies the fix. This method separates harmless rattles from urgent issues like failing brakes, bearings, or engine mounts.
